The Community of North Platte is located in western central Nebraska between the North and South Platte Rivers.
North Platte has a rich and colorful history and is well known for being the home of the world’s largest railroad switching yard and the Buffalo Bill Ranch. During World War II, the city united together along with 125 other small towns to open up the most successful canteen of that era. They served over six million service men and women that came through on the troop trains. In 2007 the very first Rail Fest was held noting how important the railroad has been to this community and the surrounding area.
North Platte is well known for its hospitality and neighborly quality of life.
